Back Traction Belt Instructions
Traction or decompression stretches the lower back and takes pressure away from discs, joints and nerves that have been irritated from arthritis, disc herniations and bulges. This is accomplished through the documented results attained through DDS, the innovator of this unique technology, and this is the G2 model that is based on the 300 spinal decompression belt.
Pressure within the lower back is significantly reduced which helps alleviate pain and assists in active rehabilitation. This version uses the same air pressure technology, yet in a more sleek design. It has a new Velcro fastening system and material that stretches more for greater size range variability and comfort.
- Worn discreetly under clothes, supporting your active lifestyle
- A drug free alternative for pain relief
- Stretches the lumbar spine vertically to reduce pressure on arthritic joints and pinched nerves
- Can be used to help prevent pain before activity
The unique air traction technology in a thin, lightweight and easy to use design; it permits a high range of mobility, seeking to help alleviate and prevent back pain. because it can be worn discreetly underneath clothes, it allows performing activities like walking, driving, and standing for extended periods, allowing back pain sufferers with an active lifestyle to work better, enjoy sports more and do other leisure activities with less pain and restriction. The bracing system can help speed recovery and enjoy activities that may have been too difficult.
Uses an Air Spring System that promotes active rehabilitation as it strengthens and stabilizes the lumbar spine, the back traction belt is flexible and will not restrict muscle movement, which helps prevent weakening of the lower back muscles. Spinal decompression is produced as the brace inflates with air. This decreases compression or loading pressure, while it increases the disc spaces as it anchors under the rib cage and against the pelvic girdle. This decompression takes stress away from the spinal structures that produce pain and restricted motion.
A 2016 study in the Journal of Manipulative & Physiological Therapeutics showed that a decompression belt has the ability to increase lost disc height by measuring recovery of exercise induced compression in healthy weight lifters.
The lower back is also vulnerable to strain caused by poor posture. The lower back forms a foundational support for the upper body. When slouching or slumping, your spine is not properly aligned. This causes your muscles, tendons and ligaments to strain in order to keep your body balanced. It is this uneven pressure on the joints and discs that leads to a type of repetitive injury causing disc wear and tear.
The back traction belt is designed with the proper lower back curve in mind. This supports the body with the least amount of strain. The specially designed air columns gently help to re-align the spine through promoting even or symmetrical balance and decreased pressure. With consistent use, proper stretching and ergonomics, the belt can help in the promotion of lumbar curve restoration by assisting the spine into its natural shape.

Do traction Belts Really Work?
There is a problem with many copycats that say they treat back pain, but their are designed for sales, not for results. I have tried other brands; some cheap and some not so cheap, and I can tell you there is no comparison. If you are looking for something that really works, this is the real thing.
Here are some tips on what to watch out for: 1) A pump that has no gauge, designed for grip – not traction without anchor under the rib and hip for effective stretch to relieve pressure in the back. 2) One or two sizes – torso measurements vary a lot, think of a pair of jeans. 3) Not wash friendly – if they say “Do not submerge in water”, this speaks a lot about quality and construction.
