The Best Down Pillow Can Make A Difference For Support & Comfort
Down comes from the duck and goose feathers and is the soft layer under these feathers. A cluster of down is constructed out of thousands of small fibers, just like tiny natural cotton balls between the feathers and skin. Down helps to keep water birds warm and dry when they are swimming in water. Because of it’s all-natural capability to draw water from the skin, with a good down pillow, you won’t awaken warm and sticky during the night.
You may have an old down based pillow that you gave up on due to flattening out and lack of support. Down is very comfortable, but there are many cheap, inferior products on the market. A good down pillow can cost about $300.00 and is well worth it. This is an exceptional pillow at a very good price. The materials are very high quality and it has distinct areas of support. This is done through down and feather and not a hybrid with foam or plastic.
I have seen combination down pillows using foam inserts and water bladders. Ultimately, while good in theory, they fail to meet the test of time. The best pillows use natural materials and this one has great construction and a special design that provides support using the down, feathers, and cotton.
Down Pillow Features
Premium quality down only comes using duck or goose feathers. Poultry and other fowls don’t create down since they don’t stay a substantial part of their lives in the water. The design uses top and bottom layers of 90% down and 10% feathers, while the inner core uses a 90% feather and 10% down blend. The cover is 100% unbleached, undyed cotton finished with a breathable percale weave. It comes in a premium cotton packaging that protects it and makes it easy to for traveling.
Care
The pillow can be spot cleaned by hand with a mild detergent. Blot excess moisture with a clean towel. Use a mild liquid detergent, preferably non-alkaline, without added bleach or whiteners. Do not use chlorine bleach as it can weaken fibers and
cause them to yellow prematurely. If white fabrics need bleaching, use an oxygen-based bleach. Tumble dry on low heat.
