Biofreeze Topical Pain Releif Available In Popular Roll On For Easy Application

Biofreeze has been around a long time, initially in gel form and they have added a colorless roll on, making application of their product easier and more effective. I have used this for topical pain relief in practice for many years (since early 90’s) and it provides a method to get the benefits of ice therapy with proven results in treating neck pain.

Uses Menthol as an active ingredient to provide cooling pain relief when applied. It can be used on many areas of discomfort, however, I like to use the roll on for the neck, both for acute injuries like whiplash, sprains and strains, as well as chronic pain conditions.

BiofreezeIt provides cooling relief, similar to ice application for pain relief and to reduce swelling or inflammation. In fact, a study published in Clinical Chiropractic Volume 14, Issue 4, December 2011, indicated that use decreased neck pain twice as much as ice. Ice was applied to tone side of the neck and Bio freeze was applied to the other. The subjects rated their pain for each side of the neck before and after a 10 minute ice & bio freeze therapy application. They also indicated which one they would prefer to use for neck pain control along with the comfort level of ice compared to Biofreeze. Then they noted on the following day which one provided longer lasting pain relief.

The results indicated that both provided significant reductions on pain levels, furthermore, there was twice the reduction of pain on the side treated with Biofreeze! Bio Freeze was also noted to provide greater comfort and produced a longer lasting effect.

“Conclusions: Both ice and Biofreeze significantly decreased pain levels; however, Biofreeze decreased pain nearly 2 times as much as ice. In addition, it was rated as substantially more comfortable, patients preferred it, and it lasted longer 9 out of 10 times. This is the first study to evaluate solely the immediate effects of two different cryotherapy methods and, as such, it is not unexpected that the results of this study would differ slightly from other published studies evaluating menthol products. Conservative care specialists are often looking for methods to improve patient satisfaction and compliance and with the results significantly favoring Biofreeze this is recommended as the primary method of cryotherapy application on the first visit.”

Uses

May be used for muscle pain resulting from stiffness, strain injuries, joint relief and arthritis for the neck, back, shoulders, arms (elbow, wrist, hands) and legs (hips, knees, ankles, feet). Provides temporary relief.

Roll On

The Roll On uses the gel with an application that is a favorite. The best way to minimize contact with the hands and areas other than the site of application. A great way to apply bio freeze to the neck and shoulders. The Roll On is easy to apply, making it a great way to use when traveling or at work. Use the Roll On to work it deep into muscles by applying pressure in sensitive areas in muscles for added benefit. This permits a nice massage without having to wash your hands, reducing chances for side effects.

The Roll On has many applications. It is often used in clinical situations with ultrasound therapy as the ultrasound helps drive it deeper into the tissues. By applying pressure with the ball applicator at home, you can gain benefits that will improve the effectiveness of pain relief by concentrating on specific areas of muscle strain.

It is also great for massage. Sometimes, nothing is better than healing hands, and healing hands are made more effective using a topical pain reliever. Use a small amount for more resistance in deep massage techniques to tendons, or use moderately for a relaxing and pain relieving therapeutic massage.

You can use the roll-on applicator to perform massage into sore neck and shoulder muscles helps to increases blood circulation as well as warms the region allowing deeper absorbing of Bio freeze. The cooling ingredients prevent any inflammation, allowing a deeper massage with less discomfort. Apply the roll-on and work stiff joints using motion to decrease stiffness and increase range of motion.
