Positioning Options

Saunders Lumbar Traction – Treatment
- Place on either a bed or firm surface, wheels up
- Take the wheels off before unzipping the case
- The case lid should be opened towards the treatment surface or head of the bed
- Take the pump out of the storage compartment, placing it next to the traction device
- Unhook the buckles of the harnesses, positioning lower harness slightly overlapping upper
- Use a watch, timer or clock for treatment time
- Fist secure the lower harness – works best over bare skin, then tighten so it is snug, but without pain
- Repeat with the upper harness
- Place the pump into position for pumping and slowly pump by pulling the handle completely open, then completely in
- Look at the gauge on the pump, making sure you have the right amount of force and stretch
- Turn the hand pump gauge to the hold position.
- Begin to time the traction session working gradually to the traction force and time prescribed
In the beginning, 3 to 5 minutes can be sufficient with irritable conditions and/or to get used to the feel and using the device.
