The Cervical Collar has an integrated, flexible plastic reinforcement and the breathable, shape-retaining foam core and skin-friendly microfiber cloth. You don’t need to give up comfort for firm support and it is a great alternative to uncomfortable rigid collars.

Measuring The Collar

It has an adjustable length and comes in three heights: 8cm, 10cm and 12cm which is 3.1, 3.9 and 4.7 inches respectively. The heights correlate with small, medium and large size individuals. More specifically, you can measure from the top of the collar bone to the bottom of your chin while your head is looking straight forward and this will give you an approximation of the correct size neck collar for you. You can measure using your thumb on the collar bone and index finger under the chin, then place the distance of this against a ruler. Hold your head at the support level desired to achieve your goals.

Foam Cervical Collar With Flexible/Rigid Orthopedic Insert For Extra Neck Support

Whiplash is usually an injury associated with the neck structures induced by means of an unexpected backward overextension along with resultant excessive forward flexion within the cervical spine. This frequently leads to sprain and/or strain injury involving cartilage material within the neck and also may be followed by significant headaches and also symptomatic pressure from the neck muscles. These types of signs or symptoms do not automatically show up right away. Frequently, discomfort is apparent following several hours or perhaps a day or two. Even though whiplash typically heals inside of a number of weeks without having residual issues, a comprehensive doctor’s assessment ought to be conducted to be able to rule out the potential for fractures or any other complications.

According to a study in the 2009 British Medical Journal, Cervical collar or physiotherapy versus wait and see policy for recent onset of a pinched nerve: “A semi-hard cervical collar and rest for three to six weeks or physiotherapy accompanied by home exercises for six weeks reduced neck and arm pain substantially compared with a wait and see policy in the early phase of a pinched nerve.” This Collar is a good choice and provides the right amount of support to help with the early stages of a pinched nerve.

A 2010 article in the Journal of Family Practice reviews the literature and provides case evidence. Their recommendation, “A cervical collar is at least as effective as PT for recent onset cervical radiculopathy, and it costs far less.”
