Great Back Stretcher For Muscle Therapy & Posture Correction

If you find yourself working a 9 to 5 desk job or at a computer all day, you may find you have back pain and stiffness by the end of the day. Then add in sitting in traffic during the commute home and you may benefit from the back stretcher.

This is a great tool to stretch sore muscles while getting a massage effect from the acupressure nodes to help relieve those tense and sore back muscles. You control the amount of pressure as the nodules massage an knead muscles.

While it is called a lumbar stretcher, and for good reason, this is a great tool to treat nagging upper back pain and pain between the shoulders. Carefully lay on the device starting at the upper back, relax comfortably into it and stretch both your arms up over your head. This may result in an audible pop or two, releasing tight joints.

The place the stretcher under your lower back and the natural curve is restored. This stretches tight joints and ligaments in addition to the back muscles. Use for 15 minutes a day to help rehabilitate the lumbar spine. This also helps with back posture correction.

The device is sturdy enough to treat the lower back using just gravity. The curved shape helps combat forces that lead to disc degeneration an herniated discs, while the massage helps relax muscles and increase circulation. Use your imagination and you can treat other areas. While it is a bit big for the neck, it actually feels pretty good to work the neck muscles.

The arch is approximately 4 inches high, so it is not extreme and just the right height and shape to match the natural curve of the lumbar spine. Ease into this, use on a bed or sofa and gradually get used to it. It does provide a firm treatment that definitely has an effect. Muscle therapy techniques can produce some soreness at first, so go slow for only a few minutes at first. Once you are use to the back stretcher, it is best used on the floor for about 10-15 minutes a session.

Bring your arms up to deepen the effect while your legs are straight out on the floor. Use deep breathing techniques to aid in relaxation.

The special device is lightweight; less than a pound, very portable to take anywhere you go and approximates 11″ x 12″ x 4″ inches. The nodules are made of foam that is easy to clean and very durable EVA foam.

Who should not use: As we discuss, spinal curves are not always meant to be normal or approximate the the backward “C” arch. There are many reasons for the curve being less than “normal” or straight. A major reason is postural. If you have degenerative spinal stenosis or a facet joint problem, having the lower back in extension may increase pain. It should not be used with acute pain or recent injury.

BONUS: Two free massage balls to roll across your aching feet or neck!
