The Headrest Comes With A Headband & You Can Get A Replacement Savant Headband Here. The Savant Headband provides stability and restricts forward head drop. It has quick and easy adjusting using clamps that secure to the headrest. It is low profile and comfortable with pad to reduce friction and skin breakdown.

Over a period of time and with consistent use, the headband may become worn and/or dirty. Fortunately, replacements are available. Replacing is easy, just open the clamps and take the old one out and replace with the new headband. The side with the pad pad goes towards the head. Adjust for correct fit and lock the clamps.

The headband is the main feature that prevents dropped head. There are many conditions that can lead to drop head syndrome like ALS, radiation fibrosis syndromes, and other neuromuscular diseases and injuries. While the Savant provides distinct control of lateral flexion (side bending), rotation (left and right turning), and extension (backward bending), the Savant Headband controls flexion or forward bending.

The headrest can be used without the headband, but comes with one. Head drop is a common condition and when confined to a wheelchair, the addition of the band to the Savant provides unmatched control and comfort to stabilize the head from falling forward. This provides necessary control for interacting with the environment, aids with eating, breathing, and reduces pain and discomfort.

It won’t slip down over the eyes. Breathable and soft, the strap is nylon and the pad has soft lycra covering air mesh.
